Privacy at a Glance: WilcoAI sends your readback audio to our servers to transcribe and grade it. The audio is processed while you practice and then discarded; we do not store it. The resulting transcript and grading notes may stay in our logs for a limited time (up to 90 days in our grading-quality log) for quality and abuse prevention. WilcoAI has no account: we collect no name, email, or Apple ID. We do use a device identifier to apply usage limits and to measure how the app is used. Because that identifier stays the same across sessions, Apple's rules treat the data we send with it as "Linked to You" -- even though it identifies a device, and we never learn who you are.
1. Introduction
AIVIATION LLC ("we," "us") operates WilcoAI (wilcoai.app and the iOS app, bundle ID: app.wilcoai). WilcoAI is a voice-first ATC drill simulator that grades pilot radio readbacks against FAA phraseology. It is a training aid, not a flight tool. We minimize data collection at every tier.
2. Data We Collect
Device identifier (all tiers): WilcoAI has no account system -- we collect no Apple ID, name, or email. The app uses a device identifier, stored on your device, and sends it with each Daily Challenge and practice request. We use it to apply usage limits (such as the number of attempts per day) and to measure how the app is used so we can improve it. This identifier is not your name, email, or Apple ID, and it is not an advertising identifier; it identifies a device, not a known person. Because it stays the same across sessions, App Store rules treat data we send alongside it as "Linked to You" (see Section 5). If you also use other AIVIATION apps while signed in to iCloud, we use a separate identifier, stored in your private iCloud account, to recognize that the same person is using more than one device, for the same usage-measurement purpose. We do not use these identifiers to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not collect advertising identifiers or location data.
Session audio and transcripts (all tiers): When you practice, the app records your microphone and sends that audio to our servers, together with the device identifier above (and, in a multi-turn session, a session identifier). Aircraft details you set for a scenario, such as a callsign and aircraft type, are sent with the session so the simulated controller and the grader can use them. We use the audio only to transcribe your readback and grade it against FAA phraseology. The audio is processed while you practice and then discarded -- we do not store it. The resulting transcript and grading notes may stay in our logs for a limited time: our operational logs keep them up to 30 days, and our dedicated grading-quality log keeps them up to 90 days. The grading-quality log contains no name, email, Apple ID, or device identifier.
Service providers who process audio: To transcribe and grade your readback, our servers use Amazon Web Services (our cloud provider) and Anthropic (our AI provider). They process this data on our behalf to provide these features. See Section 3.
Purchases: If you subscribe or buy scenario credits, we receive a record from Apple that the purchase is active so we can unlock features (see Section 4). We do not receive your payment details.
Aircraft profiles, streaks, and practice history: These are stored on your device. WilcoAI does not currently sync your practice history to iCloud.
3. AI Features
WilcoAI uses cloud AI for every drill. We use Amazon Web Services to convert your readback to text, and an Anthropic AI model, accessed through Amazon Web Services, to generate the simulated controller's transmissions and to grade your readback against FAA standard phraseology. End-of-session debriefs use the same AI provider. These providers process your audio and the resulting transcript on our behalf to provide these features. As described in Section 2, the audio is discarded after processing, and the transcript and grading notes are kept only for the limited periods stated there.
Grading and simulated controller responses are AI-generated and may contain errors. WilcoAI is a training aid only. Never act on a simulated clearance.
4. Subscriptions
WilcoAI offers Free, First Officer, and Captain tiers, plus single-scenario consumable credits. All purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We receive a record that your subscription or consumable purchase is active so we can unlock features; we do not receive your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to subscription processing.
5. App Store Privacy Nutrition Label
WilcoAI's App Store privacy label discloses, across all tiers, the following data, all Linked to You: Audio Data (used for app functionality -- your spoken readback, sent to our providers to transcribe and grade; the recording is discarded, and the resulting transcript is kept only briefly, as described in Section 2); Identifiers (used for app functionality and analytics -- the device identifier described in Section 2, and a cross-device identifier that links your activity across your own devices); Product Interaction (used for app functionality and analytics -- which practice modes you use and how attempts turn out); and Purchase History (used for app functionality and analytics -- your subscription and credit purchases). Each is reported as Linked to You because it is sent or recorded alongside a persistent identifier. "Linked to You," in Apple's framework, means associated with an identifier -- here, a device or cross-device identifier -- not that we know your name, email, or Apple ID. WilcoAI has no account, so we never learn who you are. This disclosure matches the app's privacy manifest, which declares these same data types as Linked.
6. Your Rights and Data Deletion
On-device data (all tiers): your aircraft profiles, streaks, and practice history are stored on your device. Deleting the app removes them. The device identifier is stored so that it can persist across an app reinstall; to clear it as well, follow your device's instructions for resetting app or keychain data, or contact us at the address below.
Usage limits (server side): we keep the device identifier with a short-lived attempt counter to apply usage limits. The counters that drive daily limits expire about two days after your last attempt; a monthly limit counter expires about 60 days after it is created. This data is not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID, so we cannot connect it to your real-world identity.
Logs: the transcript and grading notes from a session may stay in our logs for a limited time -- up to 30 days in our operational logs, and up to 90 days in our dedicated grading-quality log. No log we keep ties a transcript to your name, email, or Apple ID.
WilcoAI has no account, so there is no profile to access, correct, or delete in the usual sense. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@aiviation.dev.
7. CCPA (California Residents)
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We collect only the data described in Section 2: a device identifier used to apply usage limits and to measure app usage, your readback audio (processed while you practice and then discarded), and the resulting transcript and grading notes kept in our logs for the limited periods described above. California residents have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale (we do not sell). To make a request, contact privacy@aiviation.dev.
8. Children's Privacy
WilcoAI is not intended for users under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The data we do collect -- a device identifier, audio, and the resulting transcript and grading notes -- is never linked to a name, email, or Apple ID.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after the new effective date constitutes acceptance.
